Our location in the Defereggen Valley
Our organic farm in Defereggen Valley in East Tyrol is the ideal starting point for numerous leisure activities, both in summer and winter. Are you in the mood for action and adventure? Or want to explore East Tyrol with your family? We will be happy to give you tips for your next excursion.
As one of the snow hotspots in East Tyrol, we are blessed with plenty of white gold every year. Our unique geographical location offers our guests a winter wonderland from year to year that leaves nothing to be desired. The ski bus stop, cross-country ski trail and floodlit toboggan run are all nearby. The ski bus in winter is even free of charge. It is possible to ski down, almost to the front door of the house if there is enough snow.
In summer, our valley attracts visitors with original alpine huts, endless kilometres of hiking trails and a mountain world that is unique to the Alps.
Don’t forget some culinary delights during your wonderful vacation. If you want to give your culinary skills a break, you can reach the Alzenbrunn inn on foot from the organic farm, which offers home-style cooking with a rustic ambience.
The Bruggenwirt is also located in the immediate vicinity of our farm, where the innkeeper awaits you with local hospitality. In St. Jakob you will find other inns and restaurants that are happy to spoil their guests with local and international delicacies.

If you like hiking, you will love East Tyrol. From the Stemberger organic farm you can reach numerous hiking destinations, from easy to difficult, there is something for everyone:
Easy hikes:
Circular hiking trail "Leben am Steilhang" in St. Veit, Brugger Alm, Mooser Alm (also accessible by lift), Alpe Stalle, Trojer Alm
Medium-difficulty hikes:
Leppetal Alm, Ragötzel Alm, Patscher Alm, Oberhaus Alm, Jagdhausalm, Pfauenauge
Demanding hikes and mountain tours:
Hochgall, Seespitz Hütte, Seespitze, Langschneid, 3-Almen-Wanderung
The famous East Tyrolean highlights such as the Umbal Falls in Prägraten, the Lucknerhaus in Kals or the unique Almdorf in Innergschlöß are also within easy reach by car.

Skiing:
With the ski bus you can reach the Brunnalm ski area comfortably and without the stress of driving, directly from the front door. Cross-country skiing:
We are also famous for cross-country skiing. There are several kilometres of cross-country trails throughout the valley, which are usually perfectly groomed and maintained from the beginning of December. The necessary equipment is provided by our sports stores Sport Passler and Sporthaus Troger, who will be happy to provide you with expert advice and assistance.
Ski tour:
For touring ski fans, St. Veit is the ideal starting point to get to know the area from an exclusive perspective. Those who are not afraid to go the extra mile will find secluded mountain peaks and powder slopes that will make a skiers' heart beat faster. If you would like to get to know ski touring with a local expert or prefer a guided tour, we will be happy to help you by putting you in touch with a mountain guide.
Tobogganing:
Here in St. Veit there are two toboggan runs, some of which are also floodlit. In St. Jakob and on the Stallersattel there are further runs. For tips and tricks, please ask us. You can also find details about the routes here: Defereggen Valley
General information
• Check-In from 15:00, Check-Out until 10:00
• Unfortunately, pets and dogs are not allowed here, as we protect our animals from stress on our organic farm
• All our apartments are non-smoking apartments. Smoking is permitted on the balconies and in the outdoor area.
• The minimum stay is seven nights during high season and three nights during low season.
• The apartments must be paid for in advance by bank transfer up to one week before arrival.
• Sufficient parking spaces are available
Cancellation policy:
If cancelled up to 1 month before arrival, we charge 40% of the total price, up to 1 week before arrival 70% of the total price. Cancellations in the last week before arrival are subject to a 90% cancellation fee. If you cancel on the day of arrival, we must charge the full amount.
We also offer cancellation insurance.
